I thought of Mathew 19:16 as an admonition from the Lord about the repercussions of one’s actions. When I read it, I thought it meant something to this effect: I give you access to the reign of the spiritual, your physical actions whether pro or con with be mirrored in the spiritual. I know that others think it means someone been granted divine authority to run the church and doubt anyone else holds my view.
Here is the translation I use:
καὶ δώσω σοι τὰς κλεῖς τῆς βασιλείας τῶν οὐρανῶν καὶ ὃ ἐὰν δήσῃς ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἔσται δεδεμένον ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς καὶ ὃ ἐὰν λύσῃς ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἔσται λελυμένον ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς
